Good morning, new year.

It's truly amazing what happens to the mind when it is suddenly freed from the yoke of servitude, what we call "working for a living". When all your immediate financial obligations can be met; you have a roof over your head; you have enough food for now AND later; you are warm; you are not under physical or emotional attack; when you have known all of these individually and in conjunction. I can look out my window and see trees and watch the rain fail. I had to sacrifice a great deal to get here; years off my life. But, Oh! the quality of my life now. I am alone, but not lonely. Appreciation, gratitude for what is here. That I have the capacity and wherewithal to enjoy it; to witness it. How I wish everyone could. It is the best of a life, a life times 10. Gladly I go now.
